To Daddy
TO DADDY FROM YOUR DAUGHTER Daddy, I could feel no pain It felt as if I was floating I could only hear the beep of a machine It told the beating of my heart I could hear you weeping daddy I wished I could I could comfort you I didn’t want you to be sad I knew you would miss my daddy And daddy I knew I would miss you I was really afraid daddy, I could see the Wight light, grand mommy talked about before she died Daddy that meant I could see grand mommy I didn’t know what day or time it was daddy But I feel the change I felt lighter daddy I partly heard the beeping slow I also heard you calling the doctor But I then I felt strong daddy I called you, I told you that I loved you daddy, And daddy you hugged me And whispered in my ear ‘Fly my little star fly, I love you I am so proud of you’, And daddy you sang me that little prayer “Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to keep If I should die before I wake I pray the lord my soul to take” Daddy that was the last thing I heard on this earth I didn’t feel frightened then daddy And then there was white light everywhere daddy It was beautiful, But daddy it was your crying bought my soul back To earth I can’t see you in pain daddy For years I have seen you go to my grave At mid night to celebrate my birthday with a cake, I have never loved you more daddy When you kept my favorite sweets on my grave daddy But daddy don’t cry, I am happy Please don’t cry, I will always watch over you daddy I will be your little guardian angel And daddy I just wanted to say That you are the best dad And… I love you more than the world daddy.
