Sometimes I Take Flight
Although some things might make me want to fight, at times I have the instinct to take flight. I noticed this at first when I was ten. It happened that I had a boyfriend then. He’d see me at the church and we would talk. A few times home from school or church we’d walk. I had a birthday coming up, and he showed up so he could celebrate with me. My family sang happy birthday, and what happened next involved my little friend. One crazy custom says that you can spank the birthday girl; I’d rather walk a plank. . . than let some boy get close to my behind and spank me , not just once, but ten more times! That little punk would not be spanking ME, so when he went for it, I had to FLEE! I ran upstairs with him in full pursuit. He had the nerve to follow, dumb galoot! I locked my door because no matter what - I would not let that fellow spank my butt! More stories I could give to illustrate how fast I bolt when faced with things I hate. The moral is - from me just keep away if you lean more towards Fifty Shades of Grey! Written 5/5/15 for Tammy Reams' The Pigeon who Flew the Coop Poetry contest
