I offered my couch, thought he’d stay a week, not settle down like a well-worn antique. It wasn’t long before complaints ensued; my cooking, my clothing – what’s with this dude? His cigar smell filtered throughout the house; when drunk each night, he became quite a louse. Worse yet, Ron spoke of joining in marriage! Perhaps he sought more cause to disparage. One morning he woke; all my things were gone. My support he could no longer count on. My note on the fridge made my feelings clear; it was my time to leave, my time to jeer. I’d have paid money just to see Ron’s face when he learned his habits I’d not embrace! “I put YOUR name on the lease. Rent’s due NOW.
