The Fancies of a Midsummer Waterfront
—The Sense of Sight With No Ending Point— it was early in the morning a sailboat anchored in the harbor awakened from the deep sweet dream yawns and stretches its arms to drive away black and thickened curtains over head far away across the ocean the mountains lying at the edge of the water kisses and mingles with the sky that is blue and bright when the crystal blue sky expands to unlimited eternity the colorless clouds appear and form their shapes to their will then dye a corner of the sky with the stained brushes the water came from many valleys gather together flow into a river then rushes and falls into bottomless basin of a waterfall broken into hundreds of thousands of tiny clear water beads when the water becomes mist tiny beads embrace each other and fly into the air flapping gorgeous wings and shaking his brilliant silvery mane like a whit sparking Pegasus once Pegasus flies into the air he glides in the circles for a moment then he folds his magnificent wings as a wounded Phoenix then he dashes into the water and vanishes away while the water lies in the inlet the glaring sunlight keeps throwing unquenchable flames to dissolve the rocks on the shore and the water into burning ashes when it’s time for sundown and the lonely man walks away from the shore all those brilliant colors lose their glories and turn into colorless darkness the water and the rocks also change their shapes from the original form to burning ashes then time masses and ashes become cold and gray the blazing Phoenix rises from the ashes and flies away in the foggy air to return to the island that is in the midst of the ocean yet no one has ever seen
