Twin Flames
She has long melted in a distant grave You are dear, as I lean on your stone The mossy stones, the past of my soul A lamp blazes up on the brow of night It writes in flame our names in the sky And with thee my love, the dearest tie Bounds a souring soul to earth with me Viewed the dazzling scene as I dream A moment gave me to mine thy arms Heart beats, beneath a trembling hand No word on your lip, no sound on mine Yet we breathed, and, felt, as just one As though all generations had come To walk Augustus’ streets we’re alone Blazing rain half repined deep in soul How sweet to die along and with thee My heart is a grave for an angels tomb You left me dark again in deeper night And all the blaze of constellations near The step you trod I kiss once each day Seek always on the pillar of your stone Then your memory comes on a breeze That sighs desolate as brown eyes come As the spirits of heaven, and I on earth Come, though I see you, I here you not And feel your presence in the breezes That sighs again now brown eyes come I feel your hand, now the breeze is here
