Child
You wake up in the morning and there it is. No knowledge, a visibly clean new slate. Unconditional love until the day that you die. That is what a child means to me. From the day they enter the earth, they bring joy. Even in the "terrible twos" it's really not that bad. Each new day an opportunity to teach them what's right. That is what a child does for me. The first date, first crush, first heartbreak. All things that need to be treasured. They hate you one minute, cry on your shoulder the next. That is what a child needs from us. Constantly growing, physically and emotionally. "Daddy, why am I getting hair down there?" Unconfortable at times, but wonderful nonetheless. That is what a child can put you through. The walk down the isle to give your little girl away. You wanna hold her so tight until the day you die. But now she's off to start her own little family. That is what a child grows up to become. So this is what I have been trying to tell you all. The next time you anger your son or your daughter. Don't scold or hit them, hold them tight and say "I love you." Because that is what a child needs the most.
