And you twirled my curls said they felt like silk? Then she comes along with her sweetness and roses, When were in the sandbox and she's all winks and poses. Now I'm gonna cry, 'cause I wanna kiss you too, If you don't stop I'm tellin' on you. 'Cause my dad said you can't do that to me, He'll talk to yer dad in our back alley. One last chance is all yer gonna get, so kick her to the curb and I promise not to fret. Then back to the sandbox just you and me, And if she plays real nice, she can come watch me. From across the playground that's as close as she'll stand, 'cause I'll never again trust her not to steal my man. (This poem was based on a photo of three little 3 year olds sitting on a stoop. approximately sometime in the fifty's. One boy sitting between two girls. the girl getting the kiss is dressed in a pretty dress, black shiny shoes. The other little girl who's looking on in dismay, with her little nose all wrinkled up has more of a rag-a-muffin look to her. So this was my vision of what the rag-a-muffin girl was thinking and feeling.)
