Sea Dream
I dreamed the sea swallowed me last night And rushed me, gushed me into its domain. I feared it would be dark, but I had sight Of God-made things that bleached my brain. Schools of fish of exotic design and shades Swiveled my head and danced in my eyes. They passed me like brilliant, cutting blades, Having caught scent of a sought-after prize. I spied every aquatic thing doing likewise Engaged in a relentless struggle to survive. That I am so driven I accept as no surprise. It is ordained all must labor to stay alive. The sea didn’t spare me sights deeply forlorn Ship wreckage strewn across the ocean floor. Voyages launched in faith only to be stillborn. My dream was more than a sight-seeing tour. Heaven is on high, and God’s proof is on earth— An incomplete truth I had accepted as whole. My tour gave me insight of surpassing worth Telling me in depth truths mortals must know.
