A Late Note of Appreciation
Should have written this much sooner, Now there’s just too much to say, Even love-sick honeymooner Wouldn’t leave his mom this way. Last weeks all were good ones weren’t they? No one knew what lay in store, Easy talk as smooth as ballet Sleep waltzed through the day and more. I remember - were there coyotes? Howls that laced peyote nights. Desert air stirred pastel high notes Cliffs that danced with ghostly lights. Always there when ground fog lifted By my side when shadows fell, Guiding me when focus shifted, Mom, you loved me, I could tell. Tremulous now apprehension, Something’s changing, like a spell, Light that comes with new dimension! Oh Mom, embrace your son’s farewell.
