My Place
I sit in my corner watching the world go by Tears roll down my cheeks as I cry and cry Each new thing that enters my mind does not last Life is like a giant puzzle, each piece represents someon's place My mind wanders and my eyes fly back and forth in a race Where is the space that my puzzle piece goes? Where is my piece? Joy and laughter fills the room haunting me like one big tease. I seem to be that fly on the screen, noticed by all, but apart of nothing The loud obnoxious school bell plays its part in one loud cling The gym empties and I stare across the empty room Quiet fills my ears, and stillness continues to loom Where am I, who am I, what am I? The questions still linger The time seems perfect for the arrival of my executioner. Very few even seem to notice that I am in existence. I reach out many times to be part of that seemingly real world But it always vanishes just like a dream, and my nightmare comes unfurled. I am startled from my daxe by the second cling of the bell I'm late for class, my P.A. is ruined and my life gets worse, but I'll never tell A poem is the only way for me to pour out my soul For I know not how to express emotion after sorrow's tole Read each line carefully for they all have a meaning of their own From my mouth you won't hear a mumble, not even a moan So pay attention to the small glimpse into my life For it's the only time you will see my sorrow and strife. Though things seem perfect and right They are not can you see the light School gets out and I take my long drive home The onel place my mind has the most time to roam I check my e-mail to find one message that brings a smile to my face A simple poem from a special heart. I realize I have found my place.
