Ozzie the Owl
Old Ozzie the owl has lost his twit a woo Poor Ozzie doesn’t know what to do He sits so solemnly in the gnarled oak tree With his eyes shut tightly so he can’t see He really doesn’t have a clue Where he lost his twit a woo An owl is considered to be a wise bird But his twit a woo is no longer heard His mates are worried about their friend On his twit a woo they do depend They miss old Ozzie’s familiar call It was a warning sound for them all They bring him meat and a tasty treat And hope if Ozzie begins to eat His voice may return and they will hear A loud twit a woo which his prey does fear But their tasty food it doesn’t help Old Ozzie lets out a pitiful yelp At least he has a tiny voice He would call out loudly if he had the choice His wife says Ozzie we must find a cure for this They bash beaks together in an owl like kiss It’s time for the doctor Ozzie she says And get you back to your twit a woo days So off to the owl doctor Ozzie does fly He’s very upset, you can guess the reason why The doctor says he will take a look And writes a prescription in his little red book Three times a day Ozzie must drink red wine He likes this medicine it tastes so divine His twit a woo returns like magic Ozzie is happy, his life no longertragic So if you see Ozzie sitting in the tree He’s now as happy as can be His twit a woo you can hear at night Its haunting noise may give you a fright 08~01~14 Written for Night Owl Contest Sponsored by Kelly Deschler ~awarded 3rd place~
