A Nice Gossip For Kwame Nkrumah
You built the foundation for a mansion that our generation would have rest bravo Kwame, you did your best Strong were it's ramparts that none could set apart and safe we'd forever be Oh Kwame, I wish you were here to see You designed the backyard garden where was found all to be eaten that hunger will wallow in defeat but Kwame, there's nothing to eat The garden had a canal with water, clear crystal that all could have a sip Hmmm, Kwame wait till I end my gossip In the mansion was the library with books not even my big head can carry that we could learn for free and flourish like a fruitful tree You developed the lantern to burn at all hours and glow like sunflowers Kwame, your first aid box to give us strength of the fox that in good health we could generate wealth The mansion was to be swept and neatly kept Our neighborhoods was to unite as one but this was never done Kwame now.... the mansion is in ruins we still live in mud huts with broken ramparts strangers encroach our part the garden is greatly infested with marauding pests the canal no longer flows the lantern no more glows we live with dry guts and on a dry land the library empty stands and the first aid box juggling in playful hands filth stand high at neck your one neighborhoods dream washed away by a selfish stream
