Father
Oh, how my love is lost, Sat on a battered hearts ledge, With pitiful cries and tearful moans, How I long to have our love back. His love once caring and loving, Cherishing everything that I do, Then one day leaving my heart, Never longing to come home. The other family to his side, Takes up all of his time. They go outside and play fun games As I watch from my windows ledge. Laughing, gathering, mocking my frown Yet he still can’t see my hurt As if he’s looking in a mirror And only seeing him self. Oh, how I long to have that love Seeing everyone else have it all Always watching the things they do Thinking how it would be to have that too. Letting out my heart and soul Letting you see how I feel inside, The hurt and lost little girl Just looking for the love of a father.
