All along the walkway voices howl My eyes have seen the darkest of dark The foulest of foul My time has come, I see it now How could I fall into such disgrace? I know for certain I must leave this place I must fly from here with unforeseen haste I am frightfully nervous, running out of space My visions are haunted by ghost of yore The guilt paints my mind with a ghastly decor My soul has been shaken to its very core I am barely crawling across the garden floor As I flee from here to there I become the victim of an intense glare Barely visible through my tangled hair Is that statue alive, to whom I stare? I have happened upon a large stone giant Standing tall and defiant The giant roared "you killed from rage!" "Now you must pay for your hate!" "Why must you interrogate me so?" My voice did whisper "Because you are weak!" His voice did grow "You could not possibly understand They caused me a grievance for which I could not stand" "It did not have to be this way If that night your hand did stay" And so the argument went on Until I collapsed upon the lawn Blood running from my nose and head Regretfully realizing I was dead My spirit now haunts this estate For me it has become too late Upon my brain this question poses As I stroll among the roses
