The Void Filler
She was the “Void Filler” He knew it She knew it They knew it But they never spoke of it She was there to fill him up All those needs Things he wanted, but couldn’t have Insecurities made secure By her constant attention Her love Her warmth She knew She was not the one His heart yearned for But the other one Would not reciprocate And so of late She was his “Void Filler” And so she fulfilled her role As she let him fill her Time and again With his essence Lovemaking Devoid of passion's promise To fill her heart's need Then one day The “Void Filler” woke up And realized That she was empty Running on zero Completely empty With nothing to give anymore And it frightened her She cried And tried To understand Her purpose The plan Slowly She packed her bags While he was at work The delicious food He'd expect to eat To fill up his hunger Lay unfinished The dessert Without icing Plain Like their lovemaking She looked back For just a moment Before closing the door... For good She would NOT be A “Void Filler” NO….. She would be A “VOID MAKER” Someone who was Essential for existence Needed for love's longevity A person whose absence Left a gnawing void Some other “Void Filler” could fill She stepped into the sunlight Took a deep breath of crisp morning air She felt the void in her life Slowly fill With bright warm rays of light And "SHE" smiled Eileen Manssian Ghali
