Drink From My Cup
Drink from my cup The decadence you think you'll find Sip it slow for you may be struck By bittersweet swallows over time The warmth of tea and tender heart Drink my wells last droplet Common vessel misses the mark Liquid tender flows from goblets Be wise when outer beauty imparted For chalice is viewed in tints of scarlet Though pure in heart and feigns erotic Finds kindness mistaken for harlot So as fancy as my cup though foreign As sweet my drink may taste Take each sip in meager portion For poisonous honey hides in haste Will you drink from my cup My true and Holy Grail Stand dazed and thunderstruck Of all my accomplishments and where I've failed Beware desire to reconstruct Or judge what dwells in the mug of another First walk in their shoes and drink from their cup For there are annals untold to discover
