Enter Poem or Quote (Required) Daily Oddities Arabic Poem By: Hussein Al-Hashimi* Translated into English By: Inaam Al-Hashimi (Gold_N_Silk) ============== In museums I've seen only your oddities There are no dinosaurs, neither masks Nor corners for machinations Only your faces on the glass... You draw the curtain back when its time for the clowns And bring down the throats of the sun on my dead body... There I saw you Aiming your bullets at the terrace of music As the moon drops in wailing stained with no colors. You bow to the chaff Eat what's left of the shades of trees And drink even the wine of the warmth in veins. Do you joy over my grief? And weep for my blues under the conflict of the heavens..? There I saw you As shiny insults, And as elegant wax bayonets Not anything like the noses of that ruin And I thought of Hamzatov: "Affectionate homeland and a wonderful woman ... deserve............" [1] I also thought Time is so little And our oddities make a big museum. ================= Translated by: Em.
