Morning Sun
Morning Sun I can’t tell you how much you were missed Or how glad I am you came back, The way you held me so close Our love was an earth shaking fact. I remember the twinkle in your eyes When you teased me with such happy humor I never believed you wouldn’t come home Your leaving just had to be rumor. So come and lay down next to me We will love the night away Like the way we used to do Until the first light of day. As we snuggle close and sleep I am content and fuzzily warm Thinking my life is good again With you keeping away all harm. The harm was when you were gone And the nightsI lay here and wept Wishing for one more hug… It was those memories I kept But now you’re here with me And all will be okay Except the alarm clock is chiming The start of another day I slowly wake up to the morning sun Shining in my window bright But you are gone again My dream washed away by daylight I shall always miss you I almost see you smile and wave But we buried you not long ago And I often visit your grave.
