Love's Possibilities
Once again tears of confusion blind my vision As I stand at the crossroads of my indecision Which road to take? Which way to go? You’d think after all these years I’d already know Should I hug the curves of familiarity? Or free fall into a dimension of uncertainty? My mind and body are weary My disposition; dreary Why? Why can’t I learn? If you play with fire, why be surprised at a burn? But this flame is so seductive, so captivating and new My 3rd degree burns show once again how I played the fool It delights and excites It blinds and smothers It reveals and covers It has neither rhyme nor reason It can find you at any time; during any season It’s a dizzying light headed sensation, that leaves the mind reeling It’s a complicated labyrinth of contradictory feelings So why do I continue to be drawn by this siren’s call? Will I gain everything from my experience or nothing at all? You can fight it, push it or stall But eventually you too will take the fall So once again I stand at the crossroads of pain and pleasure At the crossroads of an unbearably cruel reality and my outlandish fantasies As I inhale deeply, the winds of change sweep me off my feet Into the unknown void of unimaginable possibilities
