Abuse
Since I was abused from such an early age I've had to live with an uncomfortable rage To ease the pain and hide my tears Suppressing so much over the years Emotionally dead traveling through life The journeys I have taken all end in strife Words you've expressed in various tones Have done more damage than sticks and stones They've cut to the depths of marrow and soul Doing things to me that you'll never know I've hid myself from this cruel world Yet, for now I will leave this canvas unfurled Giving you a glimpse into my past Showing the scars which you have caused to last I may be a product of my circumstances but remember you created me Until now I've lived my life with a heart that couldn't see Life is what you make it or the actions that you teach Abuse is not only physical, it is also done with speech
