The Fuse Box Is In the Basement
The Fuse Box Is In the Basement By Elton Camp When one circuit goes out at night It gets me in an embarrassing tight It’s that fuse that has blown before But to replace it, I do so abhor The switch is at the foot of the stair It’s pitch black in the basement there To hunt the flashlight I never mind It’s a thing I never am able to find I must reach inside and fumble around Till the basement light switch I’ve found The bad location I silently curse What arrangement could be worse But down the stairs I fearfully tread What may be inside, I loathe & dread Logic and reason say it’ll be okay But the heart another thing does say Some frightful fiend lurks within With glowing eyes and evil grin But childish fears I have to shed I can’t ask my wife to do it instead
