Old witches churn cauldrons of spells on hot fires as skeletons hang suspended without fragile wires hungry black bats lick their blioodsucking chops while Frankenstein dines with blind three-eyed Cyclops. Young lovers decided to dress for trick or treat he was an Ogre with ornate heartbeat she was a Princess of pure innocence while bloodthirsty vampires, her sweet blood would drink. The ominous castle was decorated to invite an unsuspecting pair to a table delight they knocked on the creaky door where zombies had greeted as the Wolf Man played host and the chanting repeated. Two cups of dark brew held fire and ice candy colors tempted as would sugar and spice the room started spinning as the couple lay still and their nightmare began from some demonic will. Screams of fear stuck in dry throats of stiff pair alive, they were buried, in an old graveyard lair as the Moon hovered over the site of this lore legend has fashioned sad story of gore. Each Halloween evening Jack-O-Lanterns do dance round the lone unmarked grave of the lovers romance trick or treaters take heed as you journey for fun whether real or a dream, wake the Moon, ride the Sun. On a cool scary night beneath silver stars beware of creepy castle surrounded by bars remember young lovers who met their cruel fate on Halloween night beyond masquerade gate. *For Gail Doyle's Halloween Night Contest. *August 23,2012
