Lost Innocence
A young girl, her innocence lost. No place to turn, no bridge to cross. She's standing alone in the pouring rain. She still hears his voice calling her name. There's a sadness in her eyes no one can see. She's alone in this world and on this street. So many cars are passing her by. They don't see her waving "goodbye". Her life feels meaningless, she has no one there. She remembers a time when she used to care. Lately bad luck has found a way. To mess with her life and ruin her day. She tells herself "it will be okay". But today she doesn't see it that way. A broken home, her broken dreams. Things aren't the way everyone sees. Behind the doors of her beautiful home. She feels so helpless, she feels so alone. No one is there to kiss her goodnight. Or teach her the difference between wrong and right. No one with band aids when she skins her knee. No one is there and no one sees. There are so many scars on her little heart. She's on the edge of falling apart. The night is beginning to get so cold. But she'd rather freeze than ever go home.
