No Shoes On
No Shoes On Written By: Famekia Dingle Sun rays shinning down, can’t believe what is found. Tucked away in a corner so nice, calling for help twice then thrice. People passing on the street, never even noticing who they meet. Right there by your feet, a child asking for something to eat. No one listens, no one hears. The call of a neglected child eyes full of tears. Then the rain begins to fall, the worn little body curled into a ball. Wishing for a little love, for someone to give a little grub. As the rain gets even harder, it seems as if the pains grow stronger. Know tearing at stomach lining, a little voice says come on with perfect timing. Calming the hunger of the belly, the voice has a perfect setting. Ready to trap, anxious to win, taking all innocence within. How many passed and wouldn’t stop How many wouldn’t even flag down a cop. Now it’s too late, to far gone is the child with no shoes on
