Nightmare
Night cloaks the dark sky with brilliant stars And twisted, tortured trees surround me closing me in Like a doe caught in a hunter’s trap A lost girl in a nightmare A twisted, tortured nightmare created by a sick insomniac A crazed, masochistic killer The darkness confuses my senses Noises make shivers shoot up my spine and I only become more lost, as the trail winds And tree branches snag my dress, cutting my skin As I shudder from the shadows Fear makes my heart beat fast, and tears spring to my eyes as the branches cut into me All at once, the forest opens up and a meadow fills my view open, beautiful space yet my eyes watch for monsters that hide, in black shadows The sound of wings fills the air as the stars are obscured by a million ravens For a moment, all I can do is stare and then his arms slide around my waist Subtle, yet smooth as the snake that he really is The eyes of the devil stare back at mine And his arms wind around even tighter, His lips meet mine, hard and flames consume my soul His dark poison fills every essence of my body, as he slowly drains the life The very breath from me The end of this nightmare has come, and yet has begun again For I will be forever with him, this devil, this demon who claims my soul as his
