Last Wish
I sit atop a gravestone staring at the people, All dressed up in black standing before me, I look into their sullen faces, Silent tears spill down their cheeks, Why do you cry I ask? They do not answer, only remain silent as tone. I hop off the stone onto the cold wet earth, Turn around and kneel before the stone to read, I gasp in fear for what is written upon it, No I cry it, cannot be, I’m not dead, I'm alive, I'm alive I wail, "Can't you see me" I holler, Tears spill from my eyes, I run right through them, As if they were air. "Please help me", "Why do you weep" asks a voice, I turn to see a figure clad in a dark robe, "I know who you are, your death, Are you here to take me to the great beyond?" I ask awaiting a reply, "Yes" he replies and nothing more, "I have unfinished business" I cry, "I never said goodbye to my parents", "Are you sure, I can grant you this one last wish", "Yes" I cry, "I can rest in peace knowing that". I walk other to them and whisper into their ears, "I love you mom and dad, goodbye" They begin to cry, But I see they weep not for me, But the joy I will come to have, "I leave this world in happiness, As long as the memories last, I will remain alive in their hearts".
