Skittles and Iced Tea
skittles & iced tea after Trayvon’s slaughter, people of the empire now know that in order to buy skittles & iced tea with dark skin & a hoodie you must have some proof that you aren’t packing a weapon--- but what kind of proof do you need? perhaps a bright neon sign attached to the back of your jacket, shouting in large letters not to shoot, or glow in the dark pants that beg the rambunctious racists looking for a new target to please refrain from engaging in their immediate fantasies for the moment ? maybe if one walks with a representative at all times whose look is less “threatening” & thus they are found to be more “acceptable” when walking at night going to a 7-eleven--- yes, this representative could sit down with the caped crusader racist whose self-appointed-neighborhood-watcher-trigger-finger might not clench so fast plugging a bullet into the body of a young unarmed african-american male, if said murderous idiot had someone explain it out on a dry erase board for them, so that they put the murderous intent away & go back to their hate-filled home--- no, it’s much easier for america to go on living with some of its citizens constantly watching themselves so as to not to be seen as acting the part that the ever-suspicious point out to be “threatening,” where every single movement has to be self-choreographed, just in case there might be a copper on the corner watching out for the white people with an accusatory finger pointed, whilst the other is gripping the cannon in the holster, ready to make another martyr of a young kid just trying to get some candy on his way home.
