Confused
I wish that I could, like that famous bird, stick my head into the sand. I’m so weary of their lies. It seems to have gone on forever, this bickering and denials. Each says he’s right, the other wrong, leaving me in utter confusion. I thought I had my mind made up, that voting would be easy, but listening to the other side, has shown my choice was horrible. After all their rants and ravings I can’t rely on what they say. I am sure I will have lost all faith in both candidates, come day of election. Please bring me an honest man for whom to vote. Did they all start with honest convictions, and just become ensnarled in a faulty system? I would like to give the benefit of a doubt but the more speeches I hear, the harder that becomes. I am praying for the day that a candidate throws his hat into the ring with a solemn promise that he will have no criticism of his opponent. He will base his campaign, strictly on his own merits and ability. I think that fed-up voters will cast their votes for him and perhaps a lesson will be learned by all. As that great and rare honest campaigner once said, "You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool us all of the time." I just wish they would quit trying to do so.
