My Daddy My Daddy
One misplaced judgment call A paranoid violent moment fall Head spinning, intoxicated and being in the unknown Feeling vulnerable and all alone Aggression all around like millions of grains of sand Situations apparent which I don’t understand I hear shouts from above, a friend in trouble I switch on quick and out of my bubble I feel an adrenaline overdose occur What will I find what will I endure Feelings of my dark side becoming so real This is not good but for once I feel I don’t want to glorify But it all seems to satisfy I’m like a soldier ready for action Awaiting the battle a violent transaction I enter the room where the commotion takes place I see my target I strike twice with haste Enemy comes at me to attack Strike three he falls now on his back Just at that moment, the moment which haunts me A little girl appears “my daddy my daddy” I sense the blood drain from my face A sinking feeling, a fall from grace I turn I run What have I done? Have I disturbed a small child for life? Was this really worth the trouble and strife The innocence I’ve destroyed This wasn’t me I feel so annoyed No more violence I will deplore I will not hurt the good and pure
