Dark Woods Mt
We had a row, I ran from the car, I knew he would not follow me. I ran into the woods opposite, that was where, I had my favourite tree. I had never been to my tree before, in the dark before this Just in the daylight time and enjoyed many a stolen kiss. I almost lost my way in the woods; the noises were getting to me Is he following? No, he is in the car and not looking towards our tree. I sink down, I have found my tree at last, my very own secret tree I tell it my problems and wishes, and I know it understands me. The car has left, he has driven off, and the lights from my view are gone I don’t really care I hate him right now, I wish we had never promised to be one. I am lost in telling my thoughts to my tree, when I feel a hand upon my shoulder Oh, he has come, I relax I try to touch his hand and I feel he is getting bolder. I do love him really, I realise as I reach to touch him so soft, But there is no hand when I touch it, and a smell begins to waft I jumped up and looked at my favourite tree A smell of decay began to swirl around me. Its branches wrapped me in a hug, until my tree enveloped me ‘I’ve watched you before at my feet.’ A strange voice sounded from the tree. ‘You use me, talk to me, and ask me to put your own world to right, So be happy my love tonight this is our special night.’ ‘Tonight you have come and poured out your heart So now, to me you belong, and we will never ever part.’ I became part of my tree, its branches I now filled He told me he had put my world right, my wishes he had fulfilled. The car has returned with more people in it Backwards and forwards searching, all with torches lit. They search for me calling my name, and to my tree they do come I can see them, but they do not see me, for part of the tree I have become. The smell of decay after all these years is now sweet to my own sense of smell Two lovers fight, she leaves her lover there at my feet, on his own in misery to dwell. He sits at my feet and tells me all his wishes and of all of his many woes I will be patient for the time will come; he will be mine this much I know.
