The Faith Healer
The Faith Healer By Elton Camp Miracles identified the new Christian religion as true Its purpose served, it isn’t presently God’s will to do Yet, some are taking healing out of historical place And making claims that are mistaken and a disgrace Jesus and his apostles, when for help people did call Without pay, permanently healed them, one and all It will help avoid error if we read and understand For example, Jesus healed a man’s withered hand By Jesus’ authority, even the blind recovered sight No “faith healer” can do that today, try as they might And today when faith healings are claimed to occur Excitement goes and folks became bad as they were Today’s healer may mouth pious words about God But how he goes about “healing” seems awfully odd Some version of “I command” he will usually say So thus, he directs attention to himself in that way And another thing at his meeting might be expected Very often, the use of paid “shills” has been detected The “ailing” follow the preacher from place-to-place Then they will come to front with a sorrowful face The fake healings that the reverend then brings about The gullible audience will begin to awed praise shout The main point is that it helps with the bottom line When collections are taken, the reverend does fine
