R.I.P
Every day seems short and the night falls quick Among the morning light, I wake From a nude to blue, I become sick Not from the dormant love, but what’s at stake My sorrow lingers as I think of the past… What has gone has been Through the touch I’ve felt and the kiss to last I know now I’ll never feel again Beneath each layer, lays a pulsing heart Crowded by the burning fight, Smothered by deceit, recuperation can’t start What was lost must come to light Like a vulture, my soul strays… And from denial I smell Parting separate ways, I am rotting alive and medium-well My moments are pictures embraced by hugs Through this depression and sin, I can’t feel within What is gone has been I fail Again and again My loss, neither human but still innate My mind has left me still and seen a great death Oblivion to this unimaginable fate I am now plastic, fogging the broken glass with each breath Thinking of the day, the skull lay in my hand As the night falls again… I am lost To the moon I take a gracious stand But what has been is no longer the cost Everyday seems short and the vulture comes Again… I can never think or dream What was lost, a mind, my intellect is dim Dumb and a little less profound These thoughts, binding Dwindling Dying
