Introspection Is a Lonely Word
I took a look at the word itself and thought inspection, driving around lost I wondered what I should investigate, struck me then I was looking for the wrong thing, long ago I wandered off that beaten path first at last I was starting to go down the road I had overlooked. Speeding along in the car I noticed that I saw nothing in the rear-view mirror Clearly it was a ghost of my past, came crawling up beside me in the seat and asked me to take it home. Home alone is all I remember being before I met her, and she will drive me home. What a lonely time this introspection turned out to be, it was like a blue devil dancing on my back that made me mad and sad at once. Only to be trounced terribly bad by my will to overcome. Overcoming... Over-thinking and over-analyzing every little thing, who does that? Fat cats got no reason to, do they? Do they? I believe we only see a reflection of ourselves when we look inside, the eyes of her were the eyes of the broken mirror I was peering into and I was saved, saving the best for last I turned up the gas and went on down that road, found out I was spending too much time looking back and looking in when the only thing I wanted to win was right in front of me. Thank God for good people and good hearts, I'd be dead or dancin with the devil if it weren't for them, ride on.
