The Girl In the Dark
As sunset takes its toll and let the moon shine again, I see thunder trying to brighten up the sky in vain. And everyone creeps back into their beds, Bracing themselves for what that lies ahead. So do I like others drift to sleep taking my time, Hoping to see again the bright sunshine. But then I forget between me and the new day, Is sheer darkness with no escape way. And then works my mind bringing her alive, Slowly walking her way at my bedroom door she arrives. I turn my back towards her thinking that would save me, I swear not to turn back no matter what it be. But then her cynical aura turns me back again, I stare at her trying to scream in vain. My imagination's work -the girl in the dark, Closing in on me like the great white shark. Water dripping from her hairs and hands outstretched, She crawls towards me revealing her body like something sketched. I close my eyes tight hoping that she would never reach me, In fear I faint off into dreams finding myself in middle of a sea. The waves hit hard yet I turn out to be stronger and I survive, Finally after the hardships bright sunlight of the morning arrives. All through the day the girl in the dark stays in my head, Waiting for a chance when she can finally reach my bed....
