This Aint So Grand Son
THIS AIN’T SO GRAND, SON This man said “even the evenings will soon be sunny The moon wouldst no longer rule the sky And soon we’ll all know why” The daytime’s violence will vie with virtuosity And the sky will meet the tops of our heads I fear what the man said about ever brightness being nigh and the sky no longer high And soon we’ll all know why See that gorilla who swaggers along? Soon he’ll be on top of the food chain Those same great apes will learn to lie And soon we’ll all know why There will be a day when every tree bears fruit And almost everything seen you can eat Vanity and insanity will disappear When all the laws of logic will no longer apply And soon we’ll all know why Everything will be blessed by the bluest of skies all the time And words once penned awry will begin to rhyme And then suddenly upon one sodden ‘morrow Frigid it be, no heat on earth three decades from now the sun will die And our grandchildren will know precisely why © 2011.….free cee!
