That Fateful Night
From across the room our eyes first met; You were talking to the party’s host. Immediately I knew I would never forget This beauty who enticed me the most. An arrow pierced me from cupid’s ghost. Upon my approach, your smile encouraged me; Yet, robbed me of my well rehearsed words. Your sweet “Hello”, was received so strikingly; A more beautiful song never sung by a bird. My awkwardness must have seemed so absurd. How ever your heart I dared make my conquest, I assure you, I cannot comprehend. All night I knew I had to give it my best And until won I would never end. I fell in love with you; then made you my friend. I will always remember that fateful night, As the evening my lost soul was saved. As soon as you came into my sight, I knew my life’s path was now paved; And ever since, I’ve been well behaved.
