Disappointment
I never knew three simple words could hurt so much I can’t make myself believe this was more than just a crush They tried so hard to talk me out of loving you And now I realize you were too good to be true Haven’t I learned anything from my past life lessons? You better believe I’m through with taking chances These are the times when I wish I could disappear Right now I feel just like Queen Guinevere Do you believe in luck? Cause I have the worst I’m always falling too fast, always getting hurt I’m old enough to know that fairytales don’t exist When things seem to be going right, there’s gonna be a twist I always lose in the bittersweet game of love Who’d have though something so sweet could be so rough? I knew it was coming, I should have seen it Oh, how I hate the sting of disappointment So perfect, you’re a heartbreak just waiting to happen But you’re so smooth, I can’t keep myself from fallin’ We both know this will only end in disaster Like a little girl falling with no one to catch her They all say it’s better to have loved and lost But living with a broken heart is such a high cost I just have to ask myself if this is all worth the price I pay And at the end of the day I always have to pretend that I’m Ok
