Living Nightmare
I look around the unfamiliar place I am standing in. All I can see is darkness. Its cold out. The cool frosted wind whips through my long hair and past my ears. Im alone and confused. As my eyes adjust, I can see that I am surrounded by nothing but tall thick trees. The smell of pine floats in the air. It's quiet. Then suddenly the silence is broken. I hear the crackle of twigs and leaves being crushed under heavy feet. I spin around, almost losing my balance. And then I see him. At first he is just a dark figure. Then I notice he is dressed in black. We stand there for a moment. His eyes are bright and glowing green. As we stare at each other I get chills down my spine. His eyes. His green glowing eyes burning into mine. I look away and wipe away the wet tear that is trickling down my face. After moments of standing there, he lunges towards me. That's when I run. Run through the mazes of the trees. Taking my eyes off the ground for a moment I fall. He catches me. His heavy body pins me to the cold damp earth. I fight to break free, but he is too strong. And as he raises his hand to the sky I see the sharp object glistening in the moonlight. I panic. I start to scream. But my screams are just brushed off and blown with the wind through the thick branches high above me. And as my death is plunged towards me, I wake up. Sitting up in my bed, I look around. I realize it was just a dream. A terrible nightmare. As my breathing slows. I sit back and close my eyes. But something startles me. I hear the creaking of the floor boards. And in the corner of the room I see the bright green eyes staring at me, and I scream as my terrifying nightmare comes to life.
