The Jesus We Serve
THE JESUS WE SERVE His riches in glory, He forsook As recorded in God's Holy Book He came to die for sinful man According to His Father's plan But before He bled and died He fulfilled what was prophesied He must be born of virgin birth To start His life here on the earth At the age of twelve, men were amazed At His infinite wisdom and the questions He raised Then from the age of thirty to thirty-three He ministered throughout all of Galilee Preaching and teaching, miracles wrought His healing power was constantly sought Deaf made to hear, the lame to walk The blind to see, the mute to talk Paralytics commanded to roll up their bed On many occasions, He raised the dead He even changed water into the best wine With tax collectors, He would often dine Religious leaders became enraged And a plot to take His life was staged They convinced a crowd who loudly cried Away with Him to be crucified They mocked and beat Him that horrible day No man had ever been treated that way They hung Him on a rugged tree Which He had to carry to Calvary They laid His body in a borrowed tomb This Man conceived in a virgin's womb But on the third day, He arose to live And our salvation to freely give He ascended to His Heavenly Father above To manifest daily His wonderful love To any who may choose to be With Him throughout eternity Curtis Moorman - 2/7/11
