Reckless
Reeling from these absolute changes, she rearranges the pictures on the wall as she wonders, oh so reckless, why did he have to fall? And the people and the memories, he was the hero of us all, he would stand up and testify, render the rest of us so small. When you listen to the wind blow, you may just want to go to the mountains, to the woodlands, to the valleys below where we evolve, where we remember, where we try so hard to grow, but there are mysteries, evocative sweet mysteries, that we are not meant to know. That he loved her, that he desired her, was never in dispute and if anything, she was more intrigued by the disrepute that her contemporaries and loved ones all believed him guilty of, when the question is so obvious, he only meant to bring her love. When I'm singing to the birds' song, I remember his name and I'm elated, so euphoric that we thought in so many ways the same. But his loss is overwhelmingand not only for me; a generation was believing that he would set them free. Now it's over and darkness falls on us as never before. I stand in absolute amazement wondering what was behind that final door? For there was music, sweet soul music that I learned by caressing his face and of the path he took and the pains he healed there now remains a trace of anger that he was taken, his lofty plans forsaken, but when I hear his song his legacy lives on and I feel him with me, still strong, still valiant and free. I know he feels me still in awe of him, not sure how to begin, to rejoice. I'm making the best choice, in absolute changes revolutionary in me that will set all of us free.
