To bad when he's drunk, That's the best man he is, She says,"Daddy stop drinking, I want you to live." Quit screaming and yelling, She can't take it anymore. He yells,"Get out of my house then!" "Theres the front door." She stands up out of the corner, Trembling with each step she takes. The closer she gets to the door, The more Daddy starts to shake. He says I'm sorry sweetheart, Please don't let them know, Stay with me my dear, Babydoll please don't go. "I love you Daddy," slips out of her mouth, Those words she starts to despise. Daddy grabbed her by the wrists, And pulled her to his side. But that doesn't mean I want to say, She tries to say aloud. Then Daddy pulls out a bat, And says now don't you be loud. He swings the bat, He misses her She scrambles to get away. Daddy yells out orders, To avoid pain all she can say is ok. She goes to her room and lays on her bed, She doesn't hear from him for hours. She wakes up to him opening her door, He says,"Go take a shower." She walks out of the bathroom, Still wet and in a towel. Daddy pulls her close and says, "Today girl your gonna smile." They get in his truck, They drive for miles and say nothing at all. All that time that they've wasted, And they end up at some mall. They walk around awhile, No one seems to notice, All the cuts and bruises, That lay on this poor child. They look so good together, The perfect looking dad, And his daughter with the curls. They think everythings fine. Because through those stranger's eyes, She's Daddy's little girl.
