Twenty-Ten
I’ve reached the age where happiness Is dealt out in small measure, Where waking with no aches or pains Is on rare morns a pleasure. A joy to me of this year was I had no big crises of health. I had enough to pay my keep, No major worries over wealth. I had no tragic loss this year As happened in the year before. All my loved ones are doing well. A great-grandma can't ask for more. Another year in my own home, Surrounded by the things I love. My old car still chugs along And very seldom needs a shove. I found my name in the top ten Often enough to bring a glow And the confidence to try again. These contests make the black ink flow. I’ve had a year of great content.
