A Dream From 91
Drifting through time so far out of control, Searching for the answers on which to heal a wounded soul. I see so many others coming towards me asking for my help. With no answers I try to escape into the waters with a pain in which I’ve never felt. That’s when I hear their anguished cries, as I look up towards the sky. Clouds start falling towards me Surrounded by mountains I cannot run and hide. The others scream become more intense as I can feel them becoming unglued. Running through waist deep waters searching for answers, For what else can I do? The clouds they draw closer and I find it hard to control my fear. My emotions overwhelming, pent up through the years. I notice a light in the distance and from the waters is where it glows. It brings me ever so near and for reasons in which are unknown. I realize as I stand before it, that it softly calls my name. A crucifix full of light, which begins to soothe my pain. I pick up the cross and notice the clouds begin to drift further away. The screams and anguished cries of the others slowly begin to dissipate. The moon appears in the sky and that voice once again I do here. As I am asked I put the cross around my neck and it become wet once more with my tears. I return to the shore and drained I quickly fall asleep on the sand. In a cold sweat waking in my bed know all in life I’ve been through and where my heart should stand. (A poem I wrote from a dream I had in 1991 after beating cancer)
