God
The sun has set The night is here The stars are out again. Making a path from heaven to earth. The waves are crashing against the rocks Dancing to the tunes of the moon. And beneath the tall palm tree I sit on the soft grass Sensing the presence of God. God who went down with the sun, But was back with the stars. God who was in the waves And on the rocks. Whose presence I can feel On the grass around me, On the palm tree above me. God who is felt riding with the moon Up the starlit way to heaven. Who was there yesterday with The street urchin begging for money. But was also listening to the deal Of the businessman in his office. God who was helping the old lady And spanking the naughty boy. God who was crying the tears of joy On the union of two young hearts. And the tears of sorrow On the seperation of two souls. God where is he? Here…no there….or perhaps everywhere. And sitting here beneath this tree I wonder When does he ever rest?
