The only one who can pick up the pieces and fix this pain inside of me. Maybe I should have cut my losses, but instead I still try. I try everyday and I’ve come to except the daily agony you leave me in. For so many years I was alone. Then one night you chose me and I chose you. We acted like teenagers in love. But now you hold back because you’ve been hurt. Not by myself, but by another. Now I’m stuck here to pay for his mistakes. For your mistakes….. I ask you. Where does this leave me? Was I just being used? Was I convenient? No. I know what I saw in your eyes and I know how we felt when we held each other. For a short time everything was perfect in the world. Nothing else mattered except the two of us in that moment. So you may continue to refuse what we felt because the truth is that I’m not perfect. Neither are you. But I honestly believe the time we spent together we came pretty close to perfection. So after all of this I will ask you again. What does one do with a broken heart? Time and time again you refuse this gift of love that I want to give you.
