Our Front Porch
Three single trees hang One each between the posts that hold up the front porch roof. Each one off of an old horse drawn wagon from years past On the side of one post is attached an old dinner triangle Used to call the family and work hands in for a meal At the base of one post sits an old ten gallon crock. That once held fresh churned butter. Now it shows off pink Peonies in bloom Hit and miss engines, four in all, and in working order sit around the porch. To be started once in awhile just for fun A salesman's sample wringer washing machine sits below a window Just a conversation piece when company comes to call A hand cranked corn sheller sits ready to work An old basket waits below to catch the kernels Ouite a sight to see it shell An old water pump sits to one end of the porch Sleek and simple in its design. Many buckets were filled with this quaint pump A two person swing sits in front of the living room window. The soft warm evenings are spent just sitting, watching the sun set Flanking the door on either side, are two nail kegs. Surprising you with delicate daisies ivy to brighten your day Two decorative lights. A mirror surrounded by a horse collar on the wall by the front door Adds a touch of the old west This is our front porch A place to sit a spell. See bits of history Watch the desert sky at night It welcomes you to our home For those of you have seen my Bio pic. This is our front porch
