Empty
The way it made me feel I could not describe, I got this sharp pain in my stomach Then it moved from side to side. I stood on the corner and watched people pass. I asked for some change to help, No one gave. I had this empty hole in my stomach, It’s called hunger, I didn’t want it to last. But no, it did, because I was homeless you see. I got this way because I couldn’t Next resort was the trash, That was the spot; I really didn’t want to be. I dug and dug, but i still couldn’t find nothin’. I had this empty hole in my stomach, It’s called hunger, but it had begun to last. I went to a kitchen, but they said they were all out, I cried on the inside so they couldn’t see what I was all about. I went and sat on the corner, Then I looked up and saw Him. He extended his hand, Then he extended the other one, to help me up. He took me to Chick-fil-a and paid my way. A job? This was the second thing he helped with, He said, “There is a job opening.” A smile appeared on my lonely, dark, and dirty face. I said, “Yes, I’ll love to go,” Then he spruced me up. And he took me there. I got the job, Because the person saw I had some potential. I walked out and shouted Happy, was the way I felt, I tried to thank the stranger but I couldn’t find him anywhere. This was the story of how I had an empty hole in my stomach, it was called hunger, it no longer last. copyright by Shanaye Hurtt
