Kid's Games
When I was a kid, we were really poor We didn't have much money But we did a lot of things back then That you might even think is funny The only games we had to play Was the ones that we made up Like who could catch Granny's false teeth While blindfolded, with a coffee cup Then of course, we played whack a mole Now, this one was a fun game, too We'd put a piece of bread in the toaster Then, we'd whack it with one of our shoes Well, then we played "Unconscience" Let me tell you what this game's about We'd see who could hold their breath the longest Til one of us finally passed out And everybody knows about cow tipping But we were too poor to have cattle So, we'd just tip our neighbor's Volkswagon And, man, that thing would rattle And, of course, we also played checkers But we had to play with rocks And then, we played a mystery game Called "Who's been stealing my socks?" Well, that's the end of my story And, man, how things have changed I've tried to tell my kids this story But they just smile and say I'm strange
