Poisoned Arrows
Can’t you see what’s running down my face? Are you going to tell me you don’t know what that means? How can you blame me for being wary? Can’t you see that I’m almost helpless? I use to be tough as nails; I can’t help how it is now. Don’t leave me without any other options please; I live with pain; I don’t care to inflect it too. Like a silver candle holder you use to shine so bright; Now the drippings and the tarnish; Has dulled the sparkle and dimmed the fire. And I’ve pleaded and petitioned but nothing changes. You can’t possibly appreciate the extent of my commitment; Are you hoping one day I won’t get up; And I’ll end up an unfortunate victim of Lost love; hidden by denial. All I really ever did was love you more than; Anyone else ever could or would. And you don’t love me anymore; So why don’t you quit slinging those poison arrows.
