Burn It Up
Removal of me day after day Blame, to guilt, to hurt and shame What must be done of this? Pieces and pieces of hurt and blame Removal of me day after day Take this, take that What more must I endure? Pieces and pieces of hurt and pain Removal of me day after day Nasty little secrets no one can tell Whispers, shushing, eyes closed Pieces and pieces of me on the floor When will it fade? When will it all go away? I stand here with pieces and pieces of me When will it disappear? Removal of me, year after year Damage has all been done Can’t change the past Can’t remove the picture Removal of him from my life Where did he go? Why didn’t he stay? Because of pieces and pieces of me Removal of her from myself Where did she go? Why can’t I see her? Because of pieces and pieces of me Will she be returned? Can the pieces and pieces of me mend? Do we ever think to be whole? What do the pieces and pieces of me do? Father we come before You Looking to heal the pieces and pieces of me Stand here at Your door and knock Looking for the pieces and pieces of me Removal of me and yesterdays Take these pieces make them whole Removal of sin, steal it away Replace it Lord, with my grin
